Text Box: FAQs about the Massage Program at PCI

Why is massage offered as part of my treatment plan?
It is our vision of patient care to support your healing in every way possible. Receiving massage once a month while you are in active treatment gives you a time of deep relaxation; it is restorative and rejuvenating. You’ll feel like a new person!

How does it help to have a foot massage in the treatment room?
Foot massage has the amazing ability to relax your whole body while you are receiving treatment. Reducing your stress and anxiety level can have a very positive effect on every aspect of your treatment experience, plus, it just feels good.

I’ve never had a massage, is it safe for me?
Once you are scheduled, we consult with your medical team in order to provide you with a massage that is designed specifically for you, being mindful of any special needs you may have.

In this setting, the intent of the gentle massage is to help you remember how to feel good in your body and to release tension. Our utmost care is given to make sure you feel comfortable during your massage.

So, how do I schedule a massage?
Massage appointments are available Mon.-Fri. Depending on where you receive treatment, call Kathy in Newport News, Amy in Williamsburg, or leave the message with your nurse.
