Williamsburg Relay For Life Williamsburg held their Relay for Life earlier this year in attempt to avoid the blistering heat (anyone who attended 2007 surely understands why). The amount so far raised is around $250,000. The goal before August 31 is $342,000. There were a total of 58 teams, 212 survivors, and well over 1000 total participants. PCI’s contribution totaled around $4,200. Nice work! |

What is Relay For Life The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a celebration of life in honor of those whose lives have been touched by cancer. Relay for Life involves teams of 8-15 people who take turns walking around a track for 16 hours. A party-like atmosphere prevails as team members enjoy music, food, a silent auction, raffles, games and other activities while building camaraderie with fellow teammates and participants. The money raised from activities, fees, and contributions helps support American Cancer Society programs in research, education, advocacy, and service– locally, statewide, and nationally. |
